Phono-Graphix for Parents

Over 100,000 children have learned to read with the Phono-Graphix Reading Method!

Phono-Graphix is taught in schools, homes, educational and pediatric clinics, and used by reading therapists throughout the English speaking world.

A Phono-Graphix professional can turn your child's life around!

Our independent member therapists have completed all requirements for Phono-Graphix certification under the direction of a licensed Phono-Graphix trainer and are members of our international network of Phono-Graphix trained teachers. While remediation time and reading gains vary from child to child, certified Phono-Graphix practitioners are trained to achieve the same remarkable results as published in the clinical study of Phono-Graphix in the Orton Annals of Dyslexia. This study included 87 children age six to sixteen, 44% of whom were previously diagnosed as learning disabled. In a twelve hour remedial course, 98% of the children reached grade level reading.

About the Phono-Graphix Reading Method

What do parents say about Phono-Graphix?

"I am very happy that I was able to take this certification curriculum. I learned so much about myself and the written language. I would recommend that when possible, you use actual students to complete your online assignments. I found that I learned much more when I worked with students rather than adults. Kids have a way of coming up with questions and ideas that adults don't even think about. They are very creative and full of insight. I learned more about errors and error correction when working with students than when teaching a lesson to an adult. I was fortunate to be able to study and learn this curriculum as my youngest child was just diagnosed with dyslexia. This curriculum has helped me understand how my chid is processing words and how I can help them. It was nice to have a child at home who could help me with my homework. It was a great way to get them to practice decoding without feeling like they were doing homework. I can see the progress their reading already. I can't wait to be able to apply what I have learned to future reading groups."

Liza Yore, para-educator, Woodinville, Washington

"My 13 year old daughter suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident when she was 2. As a result, she has had difficulty reading. We have tried more than 10 phonics programs and a host of reading tutors. I was told by educational specialists to stop trying to improve my daughter's skills, and instead, set up accommodations, i.e. books on tape/voice recorder for the blind. My daughter and I traveled across the country to work with [a Phono-Graphix therapist] in a one-week intensive. I was amazed at the improvement in my daughter's skills and confidence after only one week. My daughter's confidence is boosted and her skills significantly enhanced. I would not have believed it if I had not witnessed it myself. The program is not a one-week fix, but it certainly has given us a running start. We will continue practicing the methods, and [our Phono-Graphix therapist] is available to answer questions. I believe she is genuinely interested in my daughter's progress. I cannot recommend the PhonoGraphix method highly enough."

"I am a parent of three children, two of which struggled tremendously breaking the code to reading, particularly my 10 year old. We tried private tutors, and a myriad of programs until Phono-Graphix was introduced by a speech and language therapist. It has been the only approach to reading that has helped our child. Many thanks for creating this brilliant and logical program that is accessible to professionals and parents."

"I have learned so many things from this program. I have 21 years of teaching experience, a K-12 Reading Endorsement through my Master's Degree and am Reading Recovery trained; however, I have learned so much about helping the at-risk reader (and all readers for that matter) understand how our language works in a matter-of-fact, hand-on way. My daughter had struggled in first grade and her school used this program with her. Within weeks she was caught up with everyone else, since she had changed schools and the expectations were much higher. The kids enjoy the activities, mastery becomes apparent and it is wonderful to see them use what they have learned in their reading. I found the examples in the training very helpful and am almost sorry it is over. What is not over is using Phono-Graphix as an intervention to the readers in our school who need to accelerate to reach the levels of their peers...I can see myself using this for many years to come! Thanks for thinking outside the box and providing materials for those kids who need a different way of learning!"
